Official Trailer : The Rover (2014)

Official Trailer : The Rover (2014)

There's something especially eerie about a manhunt in the Australian Outback. The unreachable horizon and barren plains take on a menacing tone -- or perhaps that's just the vibe they give off in the trailer for "The Rover," the latest movie from "Animal Kingdom" director David Michôd.

The trailer starts out with landscape shots juxtaposed with these abridged words from W.B. Yeats' famous apocalyptic poem "The Second Coming": "The center cannot hold / Anarchy is loosed upon the world." What follows is the near-future dystopian story of a loner (Guy Pearce) tracking down the gang that stole his truck. A wounded gang member left behind (Robert Pattinson) joins him in the hunt.

Michôd wrote the screenplay based on a story he developed with Joel Edgerton. The main role in the "Mad Max"-esque chiller was written for Pearce, while some of the movie's supporting characters are portrayed by unprofessional Australian actors. "The Rover" opens in limited release on June 13 and expands wide on June 20.

Official Trailer : The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

Official Trailer : The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

Oh hey, remember "The Purge"? It's that cheapie horror/thriller thing from last summer that opened at number one, and then disappeared from the top ten three weeks later. Remember how badly you wanted a sequel, featuring none of the original stars, but made by the same director? Good news, it's here.

Yup, Universal has cranked out "The Purge: Anarchy" roping in Frank Grillo and Michael K. Williams this time, with the first trailer dropping today—and it's not really a direct sequel, so much as a side-quel. "I thought they had a really great way to do a sequel because the first one took place in an upscale suburb with what happens to a family there when their security system doesn’t work. With this one, there’s none of the same characters, but it’s the same day of the year and it takes place in the city where there are no security systems and it’s just like a war zone where people are just trying to survive," Zach Gilford, who also features in the film, told Shock Til You Drop. "So I thought it was pretty interesting to take that concept and to look at it from a different angle.”

So get ready to experience the purge all over again on June 20th.

Exclusive Trailer: The Fault In Our Stars

Exclusive (Heart-Touching) Trailer: The Fault In Our Stars

John Green's novel "The Fault in Our Stars" was a huge bestseller, so it's no surprise that a film adaptation is coming to movie screens. The film is scheduled for a June release; its first official trailer was posted online today.

In the book, Hazel meets Gus in a cancer support group for teens. The film stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel and Ansel Elgort as Gus, with Laura Dern and Willem Dafoe. As the trailer begins, Hazel says, "I believe we have a choice in this world about how to tell sad stories." And the clips that follow show how "The Fault in Our Stars" will be told on film.

Anyone who follows Green's tumblr has been seeing news of the film as it's gone through development and production. But as he writes, this is "The full #tfios trailer in beautiful high definition!"
