Official Music Video: The Monster-Eminem ft Rihanna

Official Music Video: The Monster-Eminem ft Rihanna

Eminem and Rihanna get into the roleplaying spirit -- he as a patient, she as his therapist -- while the rapper revisits some of his past videos in the new music video for "The Monster," dropped tonight (Dec. 16) before ESPN's "Monday Night Football."

In "The Monster," the current No. 1 single on the Hot 100, the Detroit native revisits relics of his past, including references to "8 Mile," "The Way I Am," his GRAMMY performance with Elton John and more.

All the while, Rihanna is his watchful, stone-faced shrink, though she breaks out of her shell on the chorus, performing while donning tight black garb in some sort of warehouse.

Eventually, the rapper meets up with a bastardized version of his own self, shielded by gun-wielding guards and some sort of tiny, metal, cage-like prison.

The video also references his past issues with addiction and shows images of ex-wife Kim and daughter Hailie, among other images of his life.

"The Monster" is, so far, the best-performing single from Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," and is sure to get a boost from views of the new video on this week's Hot 100, perhaps securing a second week atop the chart.
